This past fall, state officials coordinated a "listening tour" to hear from Connecticut residents struggling to meet their families' healthcare needs in the face of rising costs. The Office of the Healthcare Advocate (OHA) has since launched a series of online surveys to allow those unable to attend the events to share their personal stories.

OHA's stated goal is to use the public input they gather to bring the underlying issue of affordability to the forefront of state lawmakers' discussions on healthcare. Not only do we think that's a worthy exercise, but one that could further empower our union members to make real difference in expanding access and reducing costs.
Like last month when we raised our voices to end the dispute between Hartford HealthCare and Anthem, Inc., let's once again speak out for quality, affordable care for all.
